Jake Paul Prepares Plan B if Mike Tyson Fight Cancels, His Replacement is Mexican Boxing Legend’s Son

JAKARTA – Boxing match Jake Paul and Mike Tyson originally scheduled for July 20, 2024. However, the plan changed after the boxing legend suffered an ulcer during the flight.

As a result the fight was postponed until November 15. The postponement is expected to give Mike Tyson the time it takes to recover from full-time training for the fight.

However, the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ has yet to return to full training and has only just turned 58, raising doubts as to whether his body will recover in time for Mike Tyson to enter the ring.

This situation has made Jake Paul look for other fighters to enter the ring with him at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

One name mentioned as a possible replacement for Tyson, according to WBN, is the man who stepped into the ring with Canelo Alvarez in 2017, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

The fight did not go according to plan for Cesar Chavez Jr. as Canelo dominated the encounter.

However, Chavez Jr was then scheduled to appear on Paul’s next two undercards, with rumours suggesting he would have gone ahead, had Tyson not been injured due to a stomach ulcer.

Meanwhile, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation continues to monitor the status of the Paul-Tyson fight. Spokeswoman Tela Mange confirmed the fight is still scheduled as a professional fight and Tyson remains a licensed professional.

There is a possibility that the fight could be canceled or downgraded to an exhibition with modified rules, such as Paul not being able to hit Tyson’s lower body due to his illness.

There are several factors in Chavez Jr’s favor, such as his family and title history, although his career has hit a snag since losing to Canelo.

However, the fact that the fight generated over a million PPV sales justifies that going forward. Unfortunately for Chavez Jr., things haven’t gone according to plan outside of the ring since then, having spent time in the hospital for his mental health.
