The black and yellow number 68 jersey worn by Jaromir Jagr during his time in Pittsburgh will be hung from the PPG Paints Arena ceiling tomorrow. Even before that, however, “Džegr” had to put on his skates and go on the ice with the Penguins’ A team.
Even before going on the ice, Jágr revealed how he approached training with the Penguins. “Just like old times. Instead of a coffee warm-up. Start getting dressed 10 minutes before training. Use the first half of training as a warm-up and finish the last 15 minutes at a faster pace.” he joked in an Instagram video.
And then he started “sliding”. He even managed to chat with the club’s current biggest star, Sidney Crosby (36).
Letang, wearing a wig, told Jagr, “I’ve worn No. 68 my whole life. You were my role model growing up here.”
