‘Jaan’ Has Songs But No Dream Sequence: Hero Asher Wajahat

I first met Asher at the premiere of the film ‘Karachi Se Lahore’, in which Asher Wajahat played the role of Ayesha Umar’s brother. He was only 12 years old at that time and as it happens on such occasions when the focus is on the main characters, he did not get to talk much at that time.

Then time progressed and Asher’s father Wajahat Rauf met him at every film event apart from other showbiz events. During this time, Asher also sang songs in films and also composed songs for the film. Like he composed the songs of the movie ‘Parde Mein Rahe Do’.

Meanwhile, Asher told me that I am doing a film and you have to come on its sets. Even after reaching the area of ​​Karachi where that place was, I could not reach the place where the film was depicted.

Then once there was filming in the narrow streets of Korangi, when I got close, the electricity in the area was cut off and I had to decide to return to the dark narrow streets in an unknown place for the love of my mobile.

However, the film ‘Jaan’ is now being released across Pakistan on July 14 and it was only natural to interview Asher on this occasion.

During the interview with Asher Wajahat at his home, the first question was, brother, why are you in such a hurry?

On which Asher laughed a little and said, “Hurry is to achieve success, but I have love for this work, so I didn’t wait at all.” But at the same time, he admitted that he was very nervous about playing the title role at the age of 20, because in supporting roles there is support, but this role was for a 20- or 21-year-old boy, so he adapted to the role. gone. Then ‘there are actors like Romisa Khan and Salim Meraj, so they will take over’.

The character of ‘John’ is a scavenger who works as a cleaner. According to Asher, he researched for this with the entire team, then rehearsed for two months and started filming, so he was mentally prepared.

‘On the question of typecasting, I would say that if I do a couple more such things then it might happen, but I have done two plays with very different characters so I will avoid it.’

Asher said about popular Tik Toker and social media influencer Romeesa Khan that it was his director Babar’s decision as he doesn’t listen to anyone.

‘However, when I got to know Romesa, I was happy because I have worked with her before.’

By the way, both Asher and Romesa are also tic talkers, but they could not do anything on the set of the film because there was not enough time during the continuous filming of 16 hours and then the kind of costumes that were made for the film. According to Asher, I could not even become a certain Tik Tok.

About the music of the film, Asher said that one song ‘Chathiyan’ was written and composed by him himself, while one song was inspired by a Balochi song, also a Sufi style song. ‘The film has songs but no dream sequence.’

Asher’s father Wajahat Rauf has been doing a show on YouTube as a ‘voice over man’, in which he has interviewed every famous personality of Pakistan. At the same time, the voiceover man once interviewed Asher himself. Now who is more difficult among the two, Asher says that Voice Over Man is very difficult. “At first, we had no idea that this funny character would become so popular, and what people saw, in reality, the same is true of Hum Baat Son.”

Asher said that dramas are seen more in Pakistan, but the big screen has its own fun, there is an opportunity to use more creativity in the film, so the priority is the film.
