Italy wins over Ecuador hard-fought

New York – The Italian national team continued its suffering with a hard-fought victory over its Ecuadorian counterpart with two goals at the Red Bull Arena in New York in a friendly international match late yesterday, Sunday.

Lorenzo Pellegrini opened the scoring early for Italy in the third minute with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area, and Nicolo Barella added the second goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time, bringing the match to an end with a score of 2-0.

Italy achieved a difficult victory over Venezuela 2-1 on Thursday, in its first friendly match during the current international break in Miami, Florida, and Italy is preparing for the European Cup finals scheduled in Germany, during the period between June 14 and July 14 next.
The European champions, who missed the last two editions of the World Cup in Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022, booked their ticket to the continental tournament in 2024 with difficulty, and will play in the finals in Group Two, alongside Albania, Spain and Croatia.

On the other hand, Ecuador is preparing for the Copa America in the United States, between June 20 and July 14, where the draw placed it in the second group, along with Mexico, Venezuela and Jamaica.
