New details about the legacy of the late Turkish singer Ferdi Tayfur have emerged.

Publika.az reports that the legacy of the artist who died in January of this year, which was initially reported to be worth 3 billion lira (121 million AZN), was actually announced to be 6 billion lira (242 million AZN).

According to F. Tayfur’s lawyer Hakan Tamguç, the deceased artist has 87 apartments, different plots of land, a private island in Marmaris and an annual royalty income of about 45 million lira (nearly 2 million AZN) from more than 1,000 songs.

It should be noted that F. Tayfur bequeathed his two properties in Istanbul-Fatih and Marmaris to the Darüşşafaka Society, four properties in Bolu to the Turkish Armed Forces, and eight villas in Yalova to LÖSEV (Help Fund for Children with Leukemia).

The largest share was divided among his three children and seven nieces. Daughter Tugche Tayfur and son Timur Tayfur were deprived of their inheritance. Zeliha Turanbayburt, whom Ferdi Tayfur married in 1974, will receive a share of the inheritance.
