‘It is not possible for people to pay for blood donation’ –

Quantum Foundation has honored more than three hundred voluntary blood donors. Jessore University of Science and Technology Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Majeed. He said, ‘Social and humanitarian initiatives like voluntary blood donation programs cannot be evaluated. Even humans cannot repay it. Only the Creator can repay it.’

Today (September 15) on Monday evening in the Kakrail Institute of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) auditorium in the capital organized by the voluntary association Quantum Foundation.

More than three hundred voluntary blood donors who have become members of Life Long by donating blood at least three times, Silver by donating 10 times, Golden by donating 25 times and Platinum by donating blood 50 times are honored. To motivate the voluntary blood donors, the chief guest handed over certificates, crests and medals to them at this time. At this time, Rubaiyat Hasan Siraj, a 51-time blood donor of ‘O’ positive group, and Farhan Tanveer, a regular blood recipient suffering from thalassemia, expressed their feelings of blood donation on behalf of voluntary blood donors. Md. Abdul Majeed said, ‘Only a blood recipient can understand the importance of blood. Therefore, it is necessary to motivate people to donate blood voluntarily everywhere in the country, including remote areas.

Quantum Foundation Voluntary Blood Donation Program Chief Coordinator Nahar Al Bokhari presided over the event and Quantum Foundation Director Motivation M Rezaul Hasan delivered the welcome speech. He said, Quantum has been able to provide service with about 17 lakh 30 thousand units of blood in two eras. For this, he expressed his gratitude to the voluntary blood donors and urged the young voluntary blood donors to come forward in this humanitarian service to fully meet the blood demand in the country.

It was informed on the occasion that blood cannot be produced artificially and the blood of any other animal cannot be transfused into the human body. There is no other option to get blood unless another person donates blood in need of a person. Moreover, an adult healthy person can easily donate blood regularly every four months. There is no danger of physical damage to the blood donor, rather it increases the physical health of the blood donor.
