The actress revealed that the film touched her deeply, especially since she was living a recent duel at the time of the premiere of the film: “My mother died. But she lives in me. And deep down, Josefina also leads her son inside. That presence manifests itself in multiple ways, even through the character of Pérez-Banne. It is a presence that is out and inside. She is herself.”

That mixture of the tangible and the invisible is one of the great achievements of A black lightthat manages to sustain an enigmatic atmosphere thanks to the visual work of Matías Baeza and a sensitive direction that is not afraid to explore the edges of the metaphysical.

Maternity is another of the great themes that are going through the film. For Rivadeneira, the character of Josefina embodies a different way of being a mother, far from the idealized traditional model: “These perfect maternities that are seen in many films are a prison. The rich Chileans still do not understand that wealth serves to create knowledge and beauty, And not to save the money. And that is an important cultural issue, ”he added.
