“It is a danger to national security”

In the disaster of the southern border of the United States, turned into a sewer during the Biden Administration, one expects to see hundreds of thousands of Hispanics from the entire Continent south of the Rio Grande enter the country, as it is. But Chinese? Geography doesn’t exactly help to understand it.

And yet, they are coming in by the thousands. The number of Chinese citizens entering the United States illegally has increased recently, and the latest data from the San Diego sector show a staggering 500% increase so far this year compared to the same period of the previous year.

This has understandably alarmed and intrigued some border patrol officials, who realize the danger this sudden barrage represents to national security. Because, yes, among them there will be some who come looking for “a better life”, but it would be naive to rule out that individuals with links to the Chinese Army are entering.

The head of the border police union recently denounced it, Brandon Juddwho has detected a significant increase in the number of Chinese men of military age illegally crossing the southern border, a perfect profile to be spies infiltrated in the country.

Jason Owens, head of the United States Border Patrol (USBP), has revealed that, so far this fiscal year, the San Diego sector has seen more than 20,000 apprehensions of Chinese nationals, more than five times the amount in the comparable period from last year. “In fiscal year 2024, the San Diego sector made more than 140,000 arrests, of which more than 20,000 came from China (an increase of more than 500% compared to the last fiscal year),” Owens writes in X .

Data shows Border Patrol agents encountered 5,717 single Chinese adults in January, more than double that of any other January on record. In December 2023, that number rose to a record 7,581. The total since January 2023 amounts to 64,979.

The United States Department of State designates China as “country of special concern”while the FBI says that economic espionage and counterintelligence efforts emanating from China’s communist regime are a “serious threat” to the economic security of the United States.

Judd said in his television interview that U.S. law enforcement and the intelligence community should examine the sharp increase in the number of Chinese nationals crossing the border illegally. There are “huge gangs” in the United States linked to Chinese nationals who are involved in drugs, prostitution and other criminal activities, he said. “It’s very important that we understand why we have so many people from China, especially military-age males.”
