Israel has again launched a massive attack on Rafah city in the besieged Gaza Strip. On Thursday (April 25), Israeli forces carried out an air strike there. On Wednesday, Israel announced an imminent operation in the town of Rafah. As a preparation for this, they informed about the preparation to evacuate the Palestinians from there.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said there were five airstrikes in Rafah on Thursday morning. At least three houses were destroyed or damaged in the attack. At least six people were killed including a local journalist.
“We are worried about what is going to happen in Rafah,” Palestinian ambassador to the United Nations Ibrahim Khuraishi told Reuters on Thursday. Maximum alert has been issued.’
He said, ‘Many are running away. They are afraid of the family. But where will they go? They are not allowed to go to northern Gaza. They are stuck in a tight spot’.
Israel has been conducting air and ground operations in Gaza for seven months to eliminate Hamas. They also launched fresh attacks in the northern and central parts of the valley and eastern Khan Yunis in the south.
The Israeli army launched a counterattack in Gaza after the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7. According to the Palestinian Authority, 34,305 Palestinians have been killed so far in these attacks. About 2.3 million people in the region have been displaced amid food, water and medicine shortages due to the war.
