At least five Palestinians, including four children, died in two Israeli airstrikes in the south of the Gaza Strip, according to medical sources from the Al Naser hospital, located in that area, informed EFE.
According to sources, the complex has received the remains of four children from the Civil Defense following an attack carried out by the Israeli Air Force against a tent.
“Our teams are recovering the bodies of 3 martyrs and 3 wounded, one of them in critical condition, after an Israeli attack on a tent for displaced families of the Al Abdalah family on 5th Street, on the outskirts of Khan Yunis (southern Strip),” the Gaza Civil Defense detailed in an official statement.
According to sources from the same hospital, a second attack carried out by an Israeli drone caused the death of a 39-year-old man also in the Khan Younis area.
The Israeli Army has not yet commented on the events.
In addition, an 11-year-old girl died in an Israeli attack near the town of Jabalia, in the north of the Gaza Strip, sources from the Al Shifa hospital informed EFE.
Deaths from Israeli fire are recorded practically daily in Gaza, in a context of a ceasefire in force since October 10 between Israel and the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas, which constantly denounces Israeli violations of the truce.
Sometimes, the deaths are from shots fired by Israeli troops in the area near the yellow line that divides the Strip, to the east of which the Israeli Army is located, and in other cases they are from air attacks within territory not controlled by Israel.
The Israeli Army usually justifies the attacks by saying that they are people who pose a threat to its troops or members of Hamas, although women and children are among the wounded and dead.
Last week, three children between 11 and 15 years old were killed by Israeli fire in Gaza, according to local sources.
On December 11, the United Nations reported that despite the ceasefire that came into effect last October, Israel has killed more than 350 Palestinians, including children.
