Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel can stand alone. If necessary, we will fight alone. If necessary, we will fight with ‘nails’. Netanyahu’s comments came after the U.S., a close ally, warned of a halt to arms supplies ahead of the start of a ground offensive in the southern Gaza city of Rafah.
The Israeli prime minister recalled the 1948 war to reject US warnings on Thursday (May 9). Said, 76 years ago, many were against us in the war of independence, there was arms embargo. Meanwhile, the United Nations reported that more than 80,000 Palestinians have fled Rafah since Monday (May 6) as Israeli tanks moved closer to the area with continuous bombardment. The city is running out of food and fuel, as Israeli forces prevent such goods from entering through the Rafah crossing.
