The week may begin with an Iranian strike on Israel. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned allies of a possible attack within the next two days, Liter.kz reports with reference to Еuronews.
Amid these warnings, Israeli authorities said they were prepared for any scenario.
“Iran and its allies seek to surround us with terror on multiple fronts. Their aggression knows no bounds, but Israel is not helpless. We are determined to confront them in all arenas – both at a distance and in close proximity. Anyone who threatens our citizens will be held accountable and will suffer serious consequences,” said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Amid fears of an escalation in the conflict, France, following the lead of other Western countries, has called on its citizens to leave Lebanon immediately while flights are still available.
Iran has previously vowed to take “severe revenge” on Israel for the death of Hamas’s political bureau chief in Tehran, apparently with Lebanon’s support.
Let us recall that Ismail Haniyeh, a member of the leadership of the Palestinian movement Hamas, was killed as a result of an attack on his residence in the Iranian capital Tehran.
Israel later announced the death of the second Hamas leader.
