Israel kills two Islamic Jihad leaders in Gaza

Terrorists participated in brutal massacre on October 7

He Israeli Army reported that two senior commanders of the Islamic Jihad were killed during an airstrike last Thursday against a command and control center used by Palestinian terrorists in the Deir al-Balah area, in the Gaza Strip.

The eliminated terrorists were identified as Abdallah Khatib and Hatem Abu Aljidian. The first was a commander of the Islamic Jihad’s Deir al-Balah South Battalion who, according to reports by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), “directed the battalion’s terrorist activity during the October 7 massacre in southern Israel.”

“It also carried out terrorist attacks against the State of Israel, including launching anti-tank missiles and mortars.”the IDF statement added.

Meanwhile, Hatem Abu Aljidian was commander of the Islamic Jihad’s eastern Deir al-Balah battalion.

According to the Israeli army, “Prior to the attack, numerous measures were taken to mitigate the risk of harm to civilians, including the use of precision munitions, aerial surveillance and additional intelligence.”

The war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza has entered its 11th month with no sign of a truce agreement that would allow an end to Israeli bombing and the release of hostages held by the Palestinian terrorist group.

Meanwhile, the United States, Qatar and Egypt have been mediating for months to try to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The chances of an agreement have faded in recent weeks, as both sides stubbornly stick to their positions.
