Israel Crammed 1.7 Million Palestinians into 10% of Gaza

GAZA STRIP – Israel is “deliberately suffocating 1.7 million Palestinian civilians” by cramming them into a narrow area that is no more than a tenth of the entire area of ​​the Gaza Strip.

The Government Media Office (GMO) warned of this on Friday (23/8/2024), reporting the Palestinian Information Center.

“The Israeli occupation army deliberately suffocates 1.7 million Palestinian civilians, cramming them into a narrow area that does not exceed one-tenth of the total area of ​​the Gaza Strip,” the GMO said.

GMO added that this is part of the occupation’s crimes by forcibly displacing Palestinian civilians.

“The IOF occupation forces are pushing displaced Gazans to forcibly relocate and leave their homes and settlements under the threat of gunfire, bombardment and the use of internationally prohibited weapons, which constitutes a crime against humanity,” the GMO stressed.

“This confirms, without a doubt, that the Israeli occupation army is deliberately suffocating Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip in a very narrow area that does not exceed one-tenth of the area of ​​the Gaza Strip,” the GMO said.

Highlighting how Israel has shrunk the “safe zone” in Gaza since October, the office said in November 63% of the Gaza Strip was considered a “safe humanitarian zone”, but that has since been reduced to 9.5% of the enclave.

“Gaza City and the northern Gaza Strip are not considered safe zones, despite the presence of 700,000 Palestinian civilians in the area,” the GMO said.
