According to the Zionist regime, the latest order of advanced fighter jets produced by Lockheed Martin will begin delivery in 2028.
“At a time when some of our enemies aim to damage our relations with our greatest ally, we are instead strengthening our alliance,” Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said in a statement announcing the deal, as quoted AFPThursday (6/6/2024).
Gallant, when announcing the purchase of the 25 fighter jets, also issued threats against all of Israel’s enemies in the Middle East.
“This sends a strong message to our enemies throughout the region,” he said.
Israel’s Defense Ministry said the deal would increase the number of F-35s in Israel’s fleet to 75.
“Deliveries of aircraft to the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) will begin in 2028 at a rate of three to five aircraft per year,” the ministry said in a statement.
Israel is the only country in the Middle East to have the F-35, the world’s most advanced fighter aircraft which has stealth capabilities and can be used to gather intelligence, strike deep into enemy territory and engage in aerial duels.
In May 2018, the Israeli military said it had become the first country to use the F-35 in combat.
Even before the war with Hamas broke out on October 7, 2023, Israel had launched hundreds of attacks on Syrian territory during the country’s years of war, primarily targeting Iran-backed forces and the Lebanese Hezbollah militia as well as Syrian army positions.
In April, Iran launched its first direct attack on Israel using more than 300 drones and missiles as Israel’s war with Hamas in Gaza raged.
