“ISESCO” documents Al -Farabi’s contributions

The Islamic World Organization for Education, Science and Culture (ISESCO) revealed yesterday, Monday, a new edition that monitors the contributions of the Muslim scientist Muhammad Abu Al -Nasr Al -Farabi in the areas of logic, philosophy and art, in the presence of a large presence of university presidents in Islamic countries, teachers, researchers and senior officials in the higher education sectors.

The “ISESCO” organized the official launch ceremony of this edition, which is titled “Al -Farabi and its contributions throughout human history”, within the works of the Sixth Forum for University Presidents in the Islamic World, which opened today at its headquarters in Rabat, with a joint organization between it and the Higher Education Authority in Pakistan.

Muhammad bin Salem Al -Malik, Director General of the Islamic World of Education, Science and Culture Organization said: “Our choice was on Abu Al -Nasr Al -Farabi to be the focus of this edition, because of its exceptional position in the history of global thought, as it combined philosophy and logic, music and politics.”

The owner added, in his speech during the ceremony, that Al -Farabi “left an eternal scientific heritage, his books still touched on the doors of academies and research centers to this day,” explaining that despite the multiplicity of the dimensions of his thought, “the book is prepared with four basic axes.”

The first axis, according to the Director General of ISESCO, titled “Al -Farabi and its impact on human philosophy”, in which it highlights “how he contributed to the crystallization of a comprehensive philosophical vision.”

As for the second axis, which is “theories in the philosophy of science and politics”, it reveals “the depth of its contributions (Al -Farabi) in the perception of the virtuous state and its transfer of the prevailing political models of its time.”

The third axis addresses the “philosophy of music and its aesthetics”; As “its unique ability is manifested in mixing art and science, and transcendence of Islamic taste.”

The fourth axis is concerned with “contemporary academic studies”, and “presents modern readings to Al -Farabi’s thought in a way that reflects the continuity of its influence in the contemporary world,” the owner states.

The same official affirmed that in the ISESCO believe that “this work is only the first of an ambitious project through which we seek to revive the legacy of the flags of the Islamic world through a series of conferences and reference issues.”
