Is Umbro’s cycle as sponsor of Atlético Tucumán ending?

The rumor that the sports brand Umbro would stop dressing the Atlético Tucumán squads is increasingly stronger in the halls of the “dean” institution. The negotiations for the renewal of the contract, which ends in December of this year, stalled and everything seems to indicate that from the first day of 2025 another will be the signature that would dress the Tucumán club. This would interrupt a business relationship of almost 10 years.

Beyond what has to do with the economic offer, in the “dean” they will analyze the proposals of other brands, taking into account the production capacity that guarantees compliance with the club’s obligations, which range from dressing all the teams of all disciplines until carrying out a massive distribution of clothing for fans.

There is still no brand that stands out in terms of its offers, although meetings with different companies already began a few days ago.

Without going any further, yesterday the leaders met with two national brands. Everything remains to be seen, although 2024 seems to be the last year in which Umbro and Atlético Tucumán work together.

The commercial relationship between the Tucumán club and the sports clothing company began on July 1, 2015, when Atlético Tucumán was still playing in the Primera Nacional. Over the course of almost a decade, the “dean” achieved promotion to the Professional League, in addition to two participations in the Copa Libertadores, another two in the Copa Sudamericana and qualification for the final of the Argentine Cup, all together with the Umbro t-shirts.
