Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, 5 sailors of MSC Aris have been released. They left Iran for India this evening. We thank the Iranian authorities for their communication and cooperation with the Indian Embassy.
Iran’s ambassador to India Iraj Elahi said the rest of the Indian crew aboard the ship was not detained. They can return home anytime.

On April 13, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) seized an Israeli cargo ship off the coast of Dubai. There were 17 Indians among the crew in that ship. All of them were arrested by the IRGC.
