US President Joe Biden said on Friday that he expects Iran to attack Israel very soon and warned Iran to refrain from such an attack.

Asked by reporters about his message to Iran, President Biden said, “Don’t do it,” and he reiterated Washington’s commitment to Israel’s defense.

‘We are dedicated to the defense of Israel. We will support Israel. We will help defend Israel and Iran will not succeed.’

President Biden said he would not divulge classified information, but he expected an attack to happen soon.

He spoke to reporters after a virtual speech at a civil rights conference at the White House.

Israel says it has prepared for an attack by Iran or its agents.

Tensions in the region have risen since an attack on the Iranian embassy compound in Damascus on April 1 killed seven officials, including a senior commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Israel has not accepted the responsibility of this air attack, but the supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has said that “Israel should be punished for this action and it will be punished.”

Previously, White House spokesman John Kirby said that “Iran’s potential attack on Israel is a real threat.”

“The United States is monitoring its military position in the region in light of the threat from Tehran and is closely monitoring the situation,” Kirby said.

Several countries, including India, France, Poland and Russia, have warned their citizens not to travel to the region, which is already threatened by the Israeli offensive on Gaza, while Germany has told its citizens to leave Iran. .
