Iran launches drone attack on Israel, armed forces confirm

Israel Defense Forces spokesman Daniel Hagari reported that Iran has launched a drone attack toward Israel. Hagari stressed that they are monitoring the threat in their airspace and anticipates that it will take several hours for it to reach Israel.

The air defense system is activated to the maximum, along with the mobilization of Air Force aircraft and Navy ships to protect the country’s airspace. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are monitoring all targets closely.

The public was urged to listen to and follow the instructions of the Home Front Command and the official statements of the IDF spokesperson on this matter.

In a context of growing tension in the Middle East, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced today that Israel has strengthened its defense and attack capabilities in the face of the possibility of a planned attack by Iran and its proxies against the State of Israel. As a preventive measure, educational activities and crowds were prohibited until Monday.

Gallant stated in a statement that in recent days new defensive and offensive capabilities have been implemented on land, air and sea, in coordination with partners such as the United States. The objective is to defend Israeli citizens against any terrorist threat from Iran.

Tension increased further with the hijacking of a ship by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in the Persian Gulf, linked to a company owned by an Israeli billionaire. Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz confirmed the incident and asked the European Union to declare the Iranian Revolutionary Guard a “terrorist organization” and subject it to sanctions.
