IPS and Health are working for a single list for the acquisition of oncological medications

ASSUMPTION. The Social Security Institute (IPS) and the Ministry of Health are working on a protocol on the number of patients, types of cancer treated and these statistical data will be the basis for the acquisition of oncological medications.

In the first meeting to form the work team, progress in the preparation of a single list for the joint purchase of medicines was analyzed.

The health portfolio reported that they will share the number of oncology patients, types of cancer under treatment in order to work on statistical data and to serve as the basis for the joint purchase.

Present for the Ministry of Health were the general director of Planning and Evaluation, Dr. Gustavo Ortiz; General Director of Legal Counsel, Abg. Gustavo Irala; general director of Strategic Inputs, Dr. Patricia Luraschi; director of Specialized Hospitals, Dr. Ana Collante; National Pharmacotherapy Committee, Dr. Carmen Buzarquis; Operational Director of Contracting, Lic. Laura Ojeda; director of Health Economics, CP Patricia González, and technical teams from the areas.

On behalf of the IPS, the following participated: the coordinator of the Health Management, Dr. José María Ruíz Díaz; Director of Planning, Dr. Patricia Giménez; head of the Pharmaceutical Regulation Unit, QF Sonia Cabañas; head of the Pharmacy Department of the Central Hospital, QF María Lorena Ferreira; Director of Support and Services, Dr. Marcos Martínez; medical director of the Central Hospital Dr. Hugo Martínez and the coordinator of the Planning Directorate, Lic. Rino Cubas.
