IP worries about pension management

he Confederation of Mexican Workers (CTM) and the National Chamber of the Housing Development and Promotion Industry Comarca Lagunera Delegation (Canadevi) expressed their concern about the federal pension plan.

With a call for dialogue, the CTM expressed its concern about the initiative of the Government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador that is already being discussed in the Chamber of Deputies.

They consider that it should not be about a partisan agenda since it is talking about the economic future of Mexicans and these require responsible and transparent management.

CTM says it is concerned about the lack of mechanisms for the return of funds if they are claimed.

For its part, Canadevi recognized the prevailing need to ensure a decent pension, but stated that it rejected the use of said resources to finance the fund.

Canadevi pointed out that Afore resources are the legitimate property of the workers and their use should be governed by principles of transparency, efficiency and respect for labor rights.

Currently the initiative is stuck in Congress due to a modification made by the Morena bench before its discussion in plenary.
