All members of the Party Central Committee’s Politburo, the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, assistants and family members of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong attended the ceremony.

Awarding General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong the noble title of the Gold Star Order is a full recognition of the General Secretary’s great and outstanding contributions to the Party, country and people of Vietnam for the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Vietnamese national revolutionary cause.”

According to information from the Central Council for the Protection of the Health of Officials, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, after a period of illness, despite the devoted treatment of the Party, the State, a group of professors and doctors, and the wholehearted care of his family, due to old age and serious illness, he passed away at 1:38 p.m. on July 19 at the 108 Central Military Hospital.
