International and national artists in artistic-cultural exchange

The international artistic-cultural exchange began today, at the headquarters of the Art and Culture Foundation, Ilha de Luanda.

The event, which falls within the scope of activities parallel to the Luanda Biennale, is a project of the Art and Culture Foundation and aims to promote a space for discovering Angolan artistic and cultural potential, as well as creating opportunities for the internationalization of Angolan artists.

From Angola there are the artists Mestre Capela, Osvaldo Ferreira, Pemba, Don Sebas, Rui Magalhães and Serafim Serlon and for the United States there is Noa Yekutieli, Israel (Jonathan Goldmair and Iris Elhanani), Palestine, Samah Shihadi, Poland (Tomágz Muvuszak and Grzegoz Pleszynski) and from Peru is the archaeologist Iván Macha Valverde.

The artists are painting around a single theme, THE PLATE. According to the general director of the Art and Culture Foundation, Naama Margalit, who spoke to NA, the theme is justified as it is a patent symbol in all cultures.

“When we pick up a plate we immediately imagine food, home, family, happiness and peace. However, artists will convey this in the vision of their artistic and cultural realities. The artists participating in this project deal with visual arts in different media, including painting, sculpture, installation and photography”, said the manager of the Fundação Arte e Cultura.

According to the leader, in cultural, ethnic and religious terms, the group’s artists represent 6 different countries, Angola, Peru, Palestine, Israel, Poland and the United States, four continents, African, European, North American and Asian.

“Three religions, Christianity, Islam and Judaism, 6 languages ​​(Portuguese, Spanish, English, Hebrew, Arabic and Polish, 6 different ethnic groups, Africans, Latins, Slavs, Arabs, Israelis and Americans.
