International airport companies visit new airport

News from Angola – Dr António Agostinho Neto International Airport (AIAAN) recently received a technical visit from international companies that acquired the specifications for its concession.

These are four international companies with recognized technical and financial capacity and specialists in the management of airport infrastructures that acquired the specifications of the public tender for the concession of the management of AIAAN – António Agostinho Neto International Airport.

According to a press release to which Notícias de Angola had access, the companies, of European and American origin, carried out technical visits to the new airport to learn on site the capabilities and potential of all the infrastructure available and ready to operate.

To this end, the report highlights that in recent days the interest of yet another international operator was known, a consortium formed by Chinese companies.

Launched on November 17, 2023, the Public Tender for the Concession of the Right to Exploration, Management and Maintenance of the AIAAN provides for its concession for a period of 25 years, with the possibility of extension for another 15.

AIAAN has a modern and technological airport infrastructure spread over approximately 30 km². It also has two runways with the capacity to receive medium and large aircraft such as the B747-800 and the A380.

The new international airport has the capacity to receive up to 15 million passengers per year and to process, in the same period, 130 thousand tons of goods, designed to become one of the largest and most relevant airport and logistics hubs on the African continent.
