The organism dependent on Secretary of the Interiorspecified that the migrants came mostly from Venezuela (377,401), in second place from Guatemala (209 thousand 540); Honduras in third place (144 thousand 499), Ecuador in fourth place (136 thousand 699) and in fifth place in Haiti (107 mil 432).
The remaining 10 positions were Colombia (70 mil 371), The Savior (52 mil 636), Nicaragua (45 mil 364), Peru (28 thousand 167) and Cuba (27 mil 404).

The INM explained that the unaccompanied adult foreigners were transferred to the different immigration stations where their immigration administrative procedure was carried out and their situation was resolved in each case according to their particular circumstance, in strict accordance with the provisions of the corresponding laws.
Family groups and unaccompanied minors were channeled for care to spaces of the National System for the Comprehensive Development of the Family (SNDIF).
The unaccompanied minors were from Venezuela, Guatemala, Honduras, Ecuador, El Salvador, Colombia, Haiti and Nicaragua.
The INM works and conducts itself in accordance with current immigration laws and within the framework of unrestricted respect for the human rights of migrants who transit through our country. When they are rescued, they are no longer exposed to criminal groups and migrant traffickers.”
According to the annual bulletin of the International Organization of Migration of the HIMIn all of 2023, Mexico detected 782,176 migrants in irregular status, well below the 1,393,683 reported in the first five months of this year by the INM.
