JAKARTA – Indonesian National Team U-19 It turns out that they did not set a target of becoming champions in the AFF U-19 Cup which will take place from 17-29 July 2024. Why?

Indonesian U-19 National Team Manager Ahmed Zaki Iskandar said his team wanted to focus on seeing the development of the players after conducting a series of training camps (TC) and the Indonesian National Team’s current focus is advancing to the semifinals first.

As is known, the team coached by Indra Sjafri is in Group A of the AFF U-19 Cup with Timor Leste, Cambodia, and the Philippines.

“The target is, we want to enter the top four,” said Ahmed Zaki Iskandar in Jakarta, Wednesday (10/7/2024).

Ahmed Zaki Iskandar said the coaching team chose to make the AFF U-19 Cup event to see the progress of the players after being trained in TC, trials and several warm-up tournaments. Because, the real test for the Indonesian U-19 National Team is the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup Qualification on September 25-29, 2024.

“We want to know the development of the team that has been selected. That was when they appeared in Toulon and we called them again for the AFF U-19 Cup,” he said.

Ahmed Zaki Iskandar said the Indonesian U-19 National Team players must show their best performance in the AFF U-19 Cup later. This is so that his team can exceed the target that has been given.
