Indonesian National Team Stuck in 4th Place

JAKARTA – Indonesian National Team just finished the second match of Group C 2026 World Cup Qualification Third Round Asia zone. In the match that took place at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Tuesday (10/9/2024), the Garuda Squad drew 0-0.

The Indonesian national team was really made to struggle during the face of Australia. Throughout the 90 minutes of the match, Shin Tae-yong’s team played more of a fast counterattack pattern.

Meanwhile, Australia, which appeared quite dominant in every line, was able to intimidate the Indonesian National Team’s defense several times.

It was recorded that there were 18 kicks and five on target that threatened the Indonesian National Team’s goal. Luckily, Maarten Paes performed brilliantly under the crossbar by making six brilliant saves.

Until the match ended, the score was a draw of 0-0. This additional point was still not enough to lift the position of the Indonesian National Team in Group C.

The Indonesian national team is still in fourth place with two points. Meanwhile, Australia is trailing in fifth place with one point.
