“Como 1907 is pleased to announce the signing of Emil Audero from Sampdoria on a four-year contract. The goalkeeper was loaned to Scudetto-winning team Inter Milan last season,” the account wrote, quoted on Wednesday (31/7/2024).
“The Indonesian-born player began his career at Juventus, a former youth international for Italy, and UEFA named him among the most promising European players of his generation,” the club’s official statement added.
Como head coach Cesc Fabregas explained the reasons behind signing the 27-year-old goalkeeper. Fabregas said Emil will play an important role at the club because he has great potential.
“Emil is a great addition to the squad. He plays at the top level of Italian football and we are sure he will be an important player this season and beyond, growing with us as we continue this ambitious project,” said Fabregas.
Thus, the club owned by the Indonesian businessman will have five goalkeeper options. Among them are Emil, Pepe Reina, Simons Ghidoti, Mauro Vigorito, and Pierre Bolchini.
Getting a four-year contract, Emil is happy. The former Sampdoria goalkeeper confirmed that he is ready to give his best for the club nicknamed I Lariani.
