At this particular airport, the possibility has been given to allow two take-offs and two landings every three minutes
A terrifying scene unfolded at Mumbai airport in India as one plane landed and another took off on the only available runway.
The incident took place last Saturday (06/08), when the Air India plane was landing and the IndiGo plane was taking off.
According to the Daily Mail, there are 46 flights per hour at this airport. Air traffic controllers have been given the ability to allow two take-offs and two landings every three minutes, a time that can be reduced when visibility is good.
The civil aviation service announced that it is conducting an investigation into the incident and that the air traffic controller, who was on duty at the time of the incident, has already been suspended.
