On Saturday, the XII. district membership – roughly 40 people – discussed whether the Hungarian Kétfarkú Kutya Párt would participate in the local primaries (which had never happened before) and, if so, under what conditions. Index was informed that the same number of people voted for it as against it, but at the same time, many people were unsure, so the majority abstained, so it was not possible to decide in favor of participation. From this, the Gergő Kovács drew the conclusion that there is not enough trust in their direction.

The Kutyapár will not investigate how the intention of the two co-presidents to resign out of sudden excitement was leaked to the press from the closed Facebook group used for internal “pushing”, but we know that it is not considered an official resignation in the party. It implies that

The most important lesson of what happened is that they have to communicate in every forum in such a way that it can get out at any time, anywhere – said party director Dávid Nagy, who also shared details about the strategy to be followed in the Hegyvidék. According to this, even in the event of a primary election, there will not be any kind of “bind” with the other parties, they will not agree on the distribution of available positions or the joint list.

The publication of the list in the capital is the responsibility of the presidency, but – regardless of what happens in the XII. in the district – the MKKP will definitely make a capital list. This is made possible by the fact that the I. and IV. district, there is already a third district (which is not XII.) required for the list, where the member assembly accepted another candidate for mayor.

“Gergő’s eventual assessment in the mountains is therefore not affected to any extent by the technical conditions of the Budapest list,” emphasized Dávid Nagy, adding that if the MKKP cannot function as a party, then no one can be interested in the list.

In such momentary or LMP vegetation that we replace the presidency every six months, we do not think.

The XII. possible participation in the district primaries would be a one-time act, with maximum distance from the other parties, i.e. they will not participate in any negotiations, they will also start with their own independent list. It would not be advisable for them to let this district of Buda go, if only because this is where they could show their true strength by defeating the momentary Csaba Farkas, who is supported by the DK and Párbeszéd.

The primary election in the Hegyvidék will be held between April 4 and 10, in which, in addition to János Kendernay (LMP) and Csaba Farkas, Piroska Visi, the mayoral candidate of the NGO Jövője of the Hegyvidék, may compete with Gergelly Kovács, if the members of the Kutyapár decide to do so.
