Index – Domestic – Double check where your package came from before you pay

In an even more difficult version of the scam, packages are sent to recipients who have actually ordered something, but they do not receive the product they ordered and paid for.

A 24.hu A courier of Magyar Posta Limited (MPL) told us that such shipments have increased in recent months.

In most cases, packages with a winged logo and the inscription “FAN” under it make up 4-5 percent of all delivered items.

FAN packages are “on sale” at HUF 7,500, HUF 15,000, HUF 22,000, and HUF 30,000 respectively. If an observant recipient does not receive the package and it is returned to the sender, in many cases it is relabeled and sent again, the employee reported.

Recipients – who often think that one of their family members has ordered something, so they pay and receive the package – can unfortunately only turn their complaints to the police or consumer protection, as Magyar Posta announced: they are only deliverers and do not take responsibility for the matter.
