The vice president of the DK drew attention to the fact that a few days ago Péter Magyar said in front of political science students at the POLIP Public Camp in Szokolya:
Klára Dobrev is so scary, but if I were a child or had a child, maybe I wouldn’t push her around with a stroller, lest she stop growing.
“This edifying sentence was not uttered by Zsolt Bayer, but by Péter Magyar,” wrote Csaba Molnár, adding: “The politician, who had just left Fidesz, just described how repulsive the election posters are, especially Klára Dobrev’s poster.”
“In addition to the fact that the sentence treats the framework of the Hungarian language very broadly, it is nothing more than another element of the tasteless discrediting campaign launched by Péter Magyar against Klára Dobrev. In the first case, he basically made a fool of Klára Dobrev, and now the insulting comment about her appearance was made by the politician who considers himself an honest, conservative citizen,” said the vice-president of the DK, who also noted:
We are already familiar with this speech. This is the style of Fidesz, but it is also the bottom of it, the level that Zsolt Bayer was assigned even in Fidesz. Cultivated politicians do not talk about each other like that in Hungary, or even anywhere in Europe.
The video clip shared by the DK politician can be viewed below.
This was the exact context, Péter Magyar reacted like this
The recording comes from a longer, almost one-hour video, which was shared by the POLIP Association on Friday. In this part of the video (roughly in the 9th minute), Péter Magyar talked about the poster campaign in general. He said: “Right, we don’t spend hundreds of billions on billboards like this, we don’t commit such visual pollution against the environment.”
“I don’t know when you visited Budapest, I went through Deák Square only by car, and it’s quite amazing how it looks. There are posters hanging there, like in the nineties, I thought we were done with that. And at one of the world heritage sites, it looks like some kind of bazaar, so I don’t know what it is. Alexandra Szentkirályi and the others hang there in such different colors, Klára Dobrev is so scary, but if I were a child, or if I had a child, I might not push her there with a stroller, lest she stop growing.”
Péter Magyar also responded to Csaba Molnár’s video in a comment, but he only repeated himself and wrote:
We will not visually pollute the environment with any posters.
Ferenc Gyurcsány was also a guest of this POLIP camp during the weekend.
