Index – Belföld – The one-part Mónika show arrives with stormy winds and heavy rainfall

A wavy frontal system is coming with lots of clouds, precipitation zones and Saharan dust, writes HungaroMet Nonprofit Zrt. in its Facebook post.

According to the meteorologists, a one-part Mónika show is coming:

the only beauty of the matter is that a cyclone will do the show, and not here, but with the French. Monica is expected to cause very stormy, hurricane-force winds in some places, and the daily precipitation amount may exceed 100 millimeters in some places

HungaroMet writes.

The frontal system belongs to the cyclone named Monica, which is currently still swirling west of the French coast. The front of this cyclone will reach the Carpathian basin weakened and deformed. This will determine our weather from the night hours, tomorrow we will have cloudy weather thanks to this cyclone, and then mainly rainy weather from the evening, and the weather of the first days of next week will also be influenced by this fluctuating frontal system.

During the night, clouds will increase in an increasingly large area from the west and the sky will become overcast, but precipitation may still occur in the form of rain or small showers in some places. Air movement will remain moderate for the most part, and the temperature will generally be between 2 and 7 degrees Celsius at dawn. However, in the initially less cloudy northeastern landscapes, light frost may also occur in some places.

Saharan dust and 18 degrees

On Sunday, the sky will be moderately or heavily cloudy during the day, but in the afternoon the cloud cover may become more fragmented or thinner for a longer period, so the sun may shine for several hours, but this results in filtered sunshine and not undisturbed sunshine. In the morning hours and until the early afternoon hours, rain and showers may occur in some places, and after that precipitation may occur sporadically. But a significant amount will not fall until the evening hours. The south-easterly wind will pick up in a larger area, especially in Transdanubia, there may be strong gusts. The temperature in the afternoon is usually between 14 and 18 degrees Celsius, the weather can be a few degrees warmer in the southwestern-southern areas, while the air can remain cooler in the northeastern regions.

Saharan dust arrives from the south: as the cyclone pulls up the warm air, a large amount of dust will arrive, mainly in the afternoon and evening hours of tomorrow.

In the next few days, at the beginning of next week, the wave front will move eastward, thus more precipitation is expected mainly in the eastern part of the country on Monday and Tuesday, then the weather will calm down as the front moves away, rain and showers may occur only in places, but there will still be thunderstorms on Tuesday can also develop, mainly in the southeastern parts. The temperature will mainly drop by several degrees compared to Sunday, but even so, the maximums will be above the long-term average in the majority of the country, HungaroMet reported.
