Index – Belföld – After ten years, two men who murdered a pensioner from Érd were arrested

Two men have been charged with murder for beating and tying up a 77-year-old sick elderly man with dementia back in 2009. According to the indictment, the boyfriend and his acquaintance of the daughter of the woman who did garden work at the pensioner may have brutally killed her fifteen years ago.

According to RTL Híradó, the perpetrators covered the pensioner’s head, searched the house, then fled, leaving the victim alone. The victim was taken to hospital the next day, but died a few days later.

After more than 10 years, the police managed to track down one of the suspected killers. The perpetrator was brought home from Sweden four years ago after an international arrest warrant was issued against him. He had the last word in court and denied everything. However, according to the defendant sitting next to him, he killed the man.

His companion, who testified against him, was arrested on the basis of a DNA trace found on a cigarette butt in the yard of the house. He was the first to be convicted of murder, but he did not confess to the murder. At first instance, the court sentenced the two men to 15 years in prison.

However, according to the lawyer of one of the men, the DNA trace match is not conclusive evidence. Both appealed, so the verdict is not final.
