Index – Abroad – The violent student chased away his classmates – the scandal in Croatia swelled

However, the Croatian media already wrote about the violent child’s unprecedented behavior at the end of March.

“Shut up,” – according to Jutarnji, he snapped at his classmates almost every blessed day. The nine-year-old boy’s vocabulary was not very selective. In general, he mainly addressed girls with the names “k..va”, “fat vulture”, “fat cow”, but he did not spare the boys either.

He pulled his hand out of his pants and rubbed it under the girls’ noses and shamelessly photographed their bottoms. He beat the boys with his hands and feet and threatened to harm their parents as well. He thrust his finger through the clothes into his companions’ bottoms and rubbed against them in what he called “one-minute sex”. He threw one of the small students of the elementary school in the center of Zagreb into the air, and pushed another with such force that his victim hit the edge of the bench and developed a dark bruise under his eye.

The canvas cub sometimes meowed, barked, threw himself on the ground, but never regretted what he had done

– the Croatian Index quoted lawyer Ana Marija Vegar, who represents the bullied children and their parents in the unprecedented lawsuit filed against the school.

Ten of the child victims needed the help of a psychologist, their teacher was forced to go on sick leave, and then finally resigned.

The headmistress refused to meet with them or their legal representative, so they did not know whether the bully would remain in the class at the beginning of the new school year.

After that, they decided to enroll their children in another school. Only two of the 16 students failed. On the first day, they were the only two in the class.

Empty class

A reverse case recently ended in Hungary in a not the least reassuring way: the teacher who verbally terrorized a nine-year-old girl for months got a teaching job at another school. The mother of the innocent victim wept upon hearing the news. According to him, the teacher, as a recidivist criminal, will do the same thing he did with his little girl elsewhere.

The woman turned to the authorities at least twenty times with her evidence, but only received a sympathetic response from the Prime Minister’s Office. They advised him to contact the Ministry of the Interior, which oversees education.

In Zagreb, the Ministry of Education also began to deal with what happened in the Miroslav Krleža elementary school in a meaningful way only after the teacher opened the door to a practically empty class.

They called in the parents and the headmistress, and then persuaded the parents of the violent child to find another school for him with immediate effect.

If the headmistress stays, the parents will not change their decision

As the harassment began, Croatian students were afraid to go to school. They burst into tears at the very thought of the class. The parents besieged the authorities with their complaints in vain – the system did not stop the violent kid.

In Krleža, the second day of the school year was even more surprising: the parents of one of the two remaining students also found a new school, so the bully’s class eventually shrunk to just one student.

The parents were surprised by the late intervention of the Ministry of Education, but they are not really ready to send their children back to the elementary school that evokes bitter memories.

If the principal remains, who did not listen to our children and our complaints, who ignored us for months, then we will not change our decision

said the parents of the child victims.
