Index – Abroad – Russia’s war in Ukraine – Index’s Wednesday news summary

According to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine is currently the only state in the world that really needs to defend itself against ballistic missile attacks on a daily basis. That is why he called on his colleagues from NATO countries to

hand over to Ukraine all Patriot air defense systems available in the world.

He made the statement after separate meetings with Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares Bueno and Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen.

According to Kuleba, one of the topics of the meeting with Sikorski was to discuss whether Poland can help protect Ukrainian airspace against Russian missiles, as well as the issue of violation of Polish airspace by Russian missiles, focus.ua wrote.

To this day, Ukraine is the only state in the world that actually defends itself against ballistic missile attacks on a daily basis. Therefore, all available Patriot systems in the world that can be made available to Ukraine should be delivered to Ukraine as soon as possible. There is no more important place for them

Kuleba emphasized.

At the same time, the foreign minister told his Spanish colleague, Bueno, that Ukraine needs additional Patriot and other air defense systems capable of intercepting ballistic missiles. “We talked about the importance of joint efforts to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities to achieve peace in Europe,” Kuleba said.

At the same time, he discussed with his Danish counterpart, Rasmussen, Ukraine’s urgent military needs, including the provision of air defense systems and missiles.

It is also very pleasing that Denmark continues to work on a new military aid package to strengthen our defences

Kuleba said.

As you know, American Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems have proven capable of shooting down any Russian ballistic missile, including the Kinzsal type.

In recent weeks, the Russian military has stepped up its missile attacks and regularly bombards critical infrastructure and civilians. To effectively repel Russian missiles and drones, Ukraine needs more air defenses.

We remind you that President Volodymyr Zelensky said on March 28 that the United States did not hand over the Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine. At the same time, he added that the presence of 5-7 such air defense systems would significantly strengthen the defense of Ukrainian airspace.

Also, a day earlier, on April 2, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba urged the Netherlands to hand over Patriot air defense systems to Kiev, as Russian missile attacks against Ukraine have significantly intensified.
