The Ukrainian army will receive ammunition “within the foreseeable future” at the initiative of the Czech Republic. But other initiatives are currently being considered in this regard – this was announced by Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleba at a joint press conference with his Moldovan counterpart, Mihai Popsoi.
This week we will be in contact with our Czech colleagues, where they will present the supply plan in detail and how it will all work. We are ready for full cooperation and assistance
Popsoi said.
According to Kuleba, the Ukrainian army will feel the increase in ammunition supply “within the foreseeable future”.
It won’t take many months. But the Czech initiative is planned to continue throughout the year. In other words, the first part of the projectiles will start arriving in the foreseeable future. Then more items will come during the year
Kuleba explained. The foreign minister also added that as far as the other initiatives are concerned, they also “exist”.
“In particular, we discussed one such initiative at the Vilnius meeting. I pushed for us to start raising money for this. Because everyone has to keep one thing in mind: it doesn’t work like we collected money for the Czech initiative, we blow ourselves up and say: »We did everything«. The Czech initiative is good, but not enough. That is why we closed the case of the Czech initiative today, and tomorrow we have to close the financial issues of other similar initiatives. They exist and we know about them, the only thing missing is the financial source,” Kuleba explained the mechanism.
Apart from the Czech initiative, Kuleba said that they will implement two more similar ones this year
the occupiers of Ukraine will have even more significant problems at the front
he added.
It is worth noting that the national security advisor of the Czech Prime Minister and the coordinator of the initiative, Tomas Pojar, said that the artillery shells purchased as part of the Czech initiative will probably be delivered to Ukraine at the beginning of summer. He noted that this would take several weeks. However, the coordinator of the initiative did not want to reveal the origin of the artillery projectiles, that is, which country produces them. Pojar said that the Czech Republic is looking for ammunition from all over the world, produced “wherever it is available at an affordable price and quality”.
Earlier, Telegraf wrote that Czech President Petr Pavel spoke again about the presence of NATO troops in Ukraine. He believes that if NATO troops provide support directly on the territory of Ukraine, it does not violate any international norms.
