Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army, shared detailed information about the battles on the front on Sunday afternoon on his Telegram page.

He wrote that the situation on the front has generally deteriorated recently, and that Russia is “conducting attacks along the entire front line”, and as a result, they are achieving tactical success in some places. But he also noted that in many places, certain areas along the front line are changing hands every day.

He stated that the Russians have so far failed to advance at the operational level, so they have only achieved success at the tactical level. In addition, he admitted that the Ukrainian troops had to withdraw from several settlements in Donetsk (at Berdich, Szemenivka and Novomihajlivka) in order to protect the lives of the soldiers (we already wrote about this the other day).

The situation is most difficult in the directions of Pokrovsk and Kurahiv, where fierce fighting continues. The enemy has deployed up to four brigades in these directions, trying to launch an offensive west of Avgiyivka and Mariyinka, moving towards Pokrovsk and Kurahiv

– added the commander-in-chief, noting that the Ukrainian troops are causing the greatest possible losses to the enemy, both in terms of personnel and military equipment. He also noted that, in order to strengthen the defense, new brigades, newly filled and regained their fighting ability, are being sent to the endangered sections.

Oleksandr Sirsky also wrote that the situation is difficult in the south, in Zaporizhzhya and Kherson, the Russians are trying to advance there as well, but according to his claim, they are not succeeding. Moreover, according to his claim, the Ukrainian soldiers were able to advance in one section in Kherson and managed to occupy a small island.

He also touched on the fact that the Russians are trying to advance in the Kupyansk area, in the parts of the Luhansk area that remain under Ukrainian control, as well as in Siversk. The northern part of the country (the Sumy and Chernihiv regions) is constantly being hit by artillery attacks and the Russians are also experimenting with sabotage (but for now they see no sign that a major offensive could be launched there as well).
