The only thing the West wants to achieve is to gain superiority over Russia – this is what Ria Novostyi journalist Yelena Karayeva writes in her latest opinion article, who is convinced that they do not want to achieve their goal in the “geopolitical crisis in Ukraine” in the West politicians, because there they already “played all their cards”. He also mentioned that although it is often heard what kind of weapons are used to support Kiev, this is, in his opinion, a distraction.
The author states:
The main war – without borders and limitations, which is why it can be III. call it a world war – unfolding in the digital space.
According to Karajeva, “the Americans, immersed in the game on the big chessboard, did not have time to notice” that “the Russian-trained mathematicians and software developers managed to beat them.” According to the author, the Venona project has been restarted in the United States.
What is the Venona Project?
Project Venona was a United States counterintelligence program initiated by the US Army Intelligence Service during World War II and later absorbed into the National Security Agency (NSA). The project lasted from February 1, 1943 to October 1, 1980, and its purpose was to decode messages transmitted by the intelligence agencies of the Soviet Union.
At least three thousand messages were decoded during the project. The project remained secret for more than 15 years after its completion. Some of the decoded Soviet messages were de-encrypted and published by the United States only in 1995.
“Today, in the age of social media, any alternative thought can reach millions. In hours. After what happened on Capitol Hill, the owners of these very social networks are publicly criticized and forced not only to release the personal information of those who inquired about the work of congressmen, but also to help identify almost all of them,” writes the author, who says that these people are made close enemies because they “wanted to undermine the foundations of the American government.” According to Karajeva, although the media owners could say no to these requests, they are all in the hands of the intelligence agencies.
And we know what happens in the United States to such disobedients. A ruined reputation or even physical removal
– believes the author.
“Russian media without censorship”
This is where the narrative of Moscow and the Kremlin comes into play. According to Karajeva, “Russia has now become a source of alternative news, views, positions and opinions for the average American – i.e. not censored by political correctness”.
The journalist of Ria Novosztyi then cited the case of Pavel Durov, the owner of Telegram, as an example, and in his opinion article he indicated that the French authorities who arrested him want to bring him to court on trumped-up charges. By the way, Durov, who will acquire French citizenship in 2021, stated just a few days ago that his platform is not perfect, but it is not right that he is being punished due to the ongoing illegal activities. This is not the first time that the owner of the company has pocketed a penalty, as in 2022, Telegram was already fined 3.7 million dollars in Germany, as it did not meet the requirement that users can report illegal content.
There are no coincidences
The Russian journalist sees that “the punishment of the American bloggers with an audience of millions and the detention of Pavel Durov can only be understood in the context of the digital war”.
What we must do, however, is recognize that there are no coincidences when the stakes of the digital war against us are higher than ever. The good news is that (…) in this third digital world war, we are constantly on the winning side. After all, our ideas have captured billions of people
– said the journalist in his opinion article.
Incitement to war and fabulous France
Ria Novostyi journalist Yelena Karayeva regularly expresses her opinion on the West, the war in Ukraine and the United States on the Russian state news site. However, it is important to note that the website “Spies on Putin” operating in Russia – created by the Free Russia Forum with the aim of finding and collecting information on “war criminals and people responsible for war incitement” – has a separate profile (several of its colleagues also ). According to the site, Karayeva publicly supports Putin’s aggression against Ukraine.
It wasn’t always like that. Before starting to work at Ria Novosztyi, Karajeva lived in France for 20 years. There for EuroNews he workedwhich was blocked in Russia in 2022, and its frequency was assigned to Solovyov Live. He also wrote material for other media, now recognized as “undesirable organizations” in Russia, such as Radio Liberty. While living in France, Karajeva actively praised the country and the European way of life.
“Almost everything that is made in France – from cinema to food, from literature to museums, from architecture to art – is truly excellent,” he said in an interview, scolding Russia: “If a baguette in Paris costs as much as Nikitika on the Bolsa (street in the central administrative district of Moscow – ed.)the French would think of Madame Guillotine”. He also praised the medical care, saying that France had “saved” his son: “Everything was done so skillfully, quickly, easily and with a smile that I was amazed – it was very different from the tense atmosphere of medical care in Russia.”
However, the journalist who praised the West suddenly changed his rhetoric when he had to leave EuroNews in 2021 due to layoffs and got a job at Ria Novosztyi.
