As we wrote, this is not the first time that unpleasant odors have caused a problem on an airplane. Last September, a family from Detroit was kicked off an American Airlines flight after passengers complained about their body odor. One person involved in the incident said that several people were stopped at the airport to ask if they were really smelly, but the people said they weren’t, so they think there may have been another reason they were taken off.
American Airlines confirmed that the family was indeed denied the flight because several passengers complained about their body odor. According to the airline, the family received a hotel room and a meal voucher for the night, and they were also booked on a flight the next day.
