Ukraine had already been hit by a series of comprehensive strategic strikes the previous day. Among other things, several buildings were hit in the Ukrainian capital.
In our minute-by-minute broadcast on Friday, we already reported that the Russians attacked the territory of Ukraine with drones and missiles again on Thursday night and Friday morning. According to Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Haluschenko, this is the biggest attack on the Ukrainian energy sector in recent times.
As we wrote, a series of explosions took place in Kharkiv, after which the electricity went out in several places – in the Khmelnytskyi and Dnipro regions – and there were also problems with the water supply. The Russians also hit important facilities in Vinnytsia and Krivij Rih.
In the meantime, news began to spread in the Ukrainian press that Transcarpathia was also hit in the current series of strikes – but this later turned out to be wrong.
All this happened because the governor of the region, Viktor Mikita, also reported damages in one of his own posts. This statement of his actually referred to national-level disasters, but Ukrainska Pravda first interpreted his post to mean that Transcarpathia was also affected, and that’s how they published their news. The paper later clarified the misunderstanding in its article (although in the communications referring to them some more wrong information is included).
By the way, Viktor Mikita also announced in his Telegram post that no interruptions in power supply and energy production were detected in Transcarpathia until 8:00 a.m. The Hungarian-inhabited region has so far been hit by a blow in the war, almost two years ago.
Ukraine’s largest hydropower plant is on fire, an emergency in the country’s electricity supply
In the meantime, it also turned out that Ukraine’s largest hydropower plant was also hit: the state company Ukrhydroenergo reported on the blow to the Dnieper Hydropower Plant. Several photos were received from the scene, which show that serious damage was caused.
‼️The Russians hit Dnipro Hydroelectric Station
The bastards were not satisfied with Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station and they decided to finish off our entire energy system.

Ukrhydroenergo also confirmed that there was a fire in the power plant, but they are not afraid that the dam could break: according to their claim, they have the situation under control.
Unfortunately, damage also occurred in Ukraine’s largest hydroelectric power plant – the Dnieper Hydroelectric Power Plant in Zaporizhzhya. The inhumans have not calmed down even after the destruction of the Nova Kahovka reservoir and are now trying to cause another natural disaster
– they wrote in a statement, in which they also announced that the fire in the power plant is already being extinguished, and restoration work has begun.
Meanwhile, Ekonomichna Pravda also reported that there are emergency power outages in several Ukrainian regions. So much so
Ukraine’s second most populous city, Kharkiv in the northeast, was completely without electricity.
This was announced by the governor of the Kharkiv region, Oleh Szinyehubov, adding that “more than 15 strikes” were carried out against energy facilities in the region.
Emergency shutdowns have been temporarily announced in several districts in the Sumi area, also in the northeast, and several power supply substations are being shut down in the Poltava area as a “preventive measure”. In the latter region, the governor also announced that 104,000 households were left without electricity, but they are already working on restoration. Shutdowns are also expected in the Kirovohrad area: there will be a power outage every two hours in every second household in the affected settlements.
The Russian strikes against Ukraine intensified after the previous week (during the Russian presidential election), Ukraine bombed Russia’s border areas several times, and Russian volunteers supported by the Ukrainians broke into several settlements near the border. Vladimir Putin threatened revenge on the very first day of the election.
We will also follow the developments of the war minute by minute in this article on Friday.
