Rabbi Shahar Botschak is a community rabbi in Ofakim. On the morning of Simchat Torah, Rabbi Botshak woke up along with the other residents of the south to the sounds of alarms and incessant barrages. Realizing that this was an unusual event, the rabbi opened the phone, which had been closed during the holiday and Shabbat, and through the Moshav Mitvethim emergency room group, of which he was a member, understood the dimensions of the invasion and the magnitude of the danger.

For a whole day, Davidian rescued survivors from every possible place – from the wadis, the orchards and the party complex, while harnessing other family members and friends to the rescue mission. His excellent familiarity with the agricultural roads helped him to reach the slaughter centers in indirect ways without getting hurt.
During one of the rescues, Davidian, with great courage and extraordinary resourcefulness, managed to save a girl from the hands of six terrorists while posing as an Arab. In the rescue operations he led, he saved the lives of over 700 people who owe him their lives.

Tal Levit is a farmer, a member of the emergency squad and the sixth generation in the Metula settlement. His house was damaged by a direct hit from a Lebanese missile. Together with his friends from the colony’s standby class, Levit continues to fight for the colony’s defense. He does this from an underground HML, from which he and his friends manage the first line of fighting for the house.
After the massacre in the Western Negev, members of Metula’s emergency squad deployed a network of cameras throughout the city. They also conduct observations across the border and to the sources of the enemy’s fire and help the IDF locate targets for attack. Levit has been living in Hamel for over six months, and he intends to continue to defend the colony as long as it is required of him.

Immediately after the disaster, Iris sent a recorded message to the soldiers who accidentally shot her son, in which she empathized with their pain, strengthened them in fighting and hugged them. Donations of all kinds have flowed to the security forces and surrounding settlements since October 7, and they continue to arrive even today.
