Increase in Chicken and Milk Production in July.

Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced that the production of chicken meat, chicken eggs and drinking milk increased in July compared to the previous month.

TÜİK announced the data on poultry farming and milk and dairy products production for the July 2024 period. Accordingly; in July, compared to the same month of the previous year, chicken egg production increased by 1.4 percent, the number of slaughtered chickens by 8.4 percent, chicken meat production by 5.5 percent, and turkey meat production by 0.7 percent. In the January-July period, chicken egg production increased by 5.2 percent, the number of slaughtered chickens by 6.5 percent, chicken meat production by 5.6 percent, and turkey meat production by 20.1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

Chicken meat production increased by 15.7 percent compared to the previous month, reaching 205 thousand 656 tons. Chicken egg production also increased by 0.7 percent compared to the previous month, reaching 1 billion 706 million 295 thousand units.

938 THOUSAND 533 TONS OF COW MILK COLLECTED

The amount of cow’s milk collected by commercial dairies increased by 12.3 percent in July compared to the same month of the previous year, and increased by 8.7 percent in the January-July period compared to the same period of the previous year. Compared to the same month of the previous year, cow’s cheese production increased by 1.3 percent, ayran production by 10.4 percent, yogurt production by 7.6 percent, drinking milk production by 5.5 percent, and butter production by 0.9 percent. In the January-July period, compared to the same period of the previous year, cow’s cheese production increased by 5 percent, ayran production by 14 percent, yogurt production by 9.6 percent, drinking milk production by 2.7 percent, and butter production by 10.7 percent.

The amount of cow’s milk collected by commercial dairy enterprises increased by 1.8 percent compared to the previous month, reaching 938 thousand 533 tons. Drinking milk production increased by 10 percent compared to the previous month, reaching 106 thousand 696 tons.
