In two other neighborhoods in Bosnia-Herzegovina, banners are posted prohibiting “graduating” on a motorcycle: “subject to taking shit”

After the Christmas Eve marked by the “rolezinhos do grau” in Belo Horizonte, banners banning the practice of riding a motorbike and doing the famous “rangangan” were installed in the neighborhoods of the western and north-eastern regions of the capital of Minas Gerais.

At the Cabana do Pai Tomás, the banner installed says “Attention: cutting corners, pulling goats, walking without a drain pipe or filter is strictly prohibited. Subject to charge.” In Novo Aarão Reis, residents were faced with the following statements: “It is forbidden to cut curves, steps and disturb residents, robberies and thefts in the neighborhood. Subject to being beaten. We are not responsible for damages or consequences.”

In May this year, in Alto Vera Cruz, in the Eastern region, a banner had already been put up with the message “Prohibition of driving, forming groups, riding motorbikes and traveling at a speed exceeding 40 km/h . Ass: cock in the cat.

“Stick in the cat” is an expression used as a synonym for beating. According to Itatiaia’s investigation, the strip was abandoned by drug traffickers from the region. Last Christmas, sources linked to the report reported that shots had been fired at the motorcycle of a man who had risked making a maneuver in the region.

Megaoperation

The Military Police (PM) of Minas Gerais also launched this Wednesday (27) a mega-operation to combat the disturbance to the peace caused by rolezinhos in different regions of the state.

“Our intelligence service is already working with the identified license plates. We have a lot of network monitoring work and will be doing a lot of traffic blocking between now and the new year. Our planes will monitor the places where these people will gather,” said Colonel Flávio Godinho, the Prime Minister’s director of operations, on Thursday (27).

Christmas ‘Rolezinho’

According to the company, 190 received 12 thousand calls in six hours on Christmas night (24) in Belo Horizonte, Contagem, Betim, Ibirité, Governador Valadares, Araxá, Montes Claros, Juiz de Fora and Matias Barbosa. What is “rolezinho”?

The practice consists of a gathering of motorcyclists to perform maneuvers on public roads. Those involved typically report events on social media and meet on the streets and avenues, in the early hours of the morning, to ride their motorbikes, honk their horns and rev their engines.

Anyone caught driving a motorcycle can be fined for such conduct, which is classified by the Brazilian Highway Code (CTB) as a very serious infringement. In addition to a fine of R$ 293.47, the driver can lose his driving license for a period of 2 to 8 months.

Capital of qualifications

Belo Horizonte was recognized, in August 2022, as the national graduation capital, and also had a space dedicated to the practice of this sport. The grade arena was located on an area of 58,776 m² in Avenida Professor Clóvis Salgado, in the Bandeirantes neighborhood, in the Pampulha region. However, the agreement with the city to use the space expired and was not renewed.
