The Indian Medical Research Council (ICMR) said the sub-variants of Omicron were found in genome sequenceing of Covid patients in southern and western India. ICMR chief Dr. Rajiv Behel says these subverians are the main reason for the increase in infection.

He said the infection was first grown in southern India, then spreading in west and now in north India. This situation is being monitored through the Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP).

Dr. Behel added that the severity of infection so far is very low, so there is nothing to panic. According to him, three things were seen while analyzing the Covid situation. They are: how fast the infection is spreading. The immune system made in vaccine or previous infection is effective and how serious the infection is.

According to him, so far most patients have been infected with light symptoms, the number of complex patients is very low. However, he said, it is best to be careful and ready.
