Relations between Russia and China have reached an unprecedented level thanks to their leaders. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced this during the negotiations with his PRC counterpart Wang Yi.
“We see that thanks to the leaders, the Russian-Chinese comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction relations have reached an unprecedented level, without any exaggeration. And with the re-election of Vladimir Putin, the continuation of the line of comprehensive strengthening of them, of course, has received additional guarantees”, – his words are quoted by “Interfax” agency.
According to Lavrov, the strategic partnership of the two countries is built on the principles of respectful, equal, reliable dialogue and mutual support in issues related to the fundamental interests of both countries.
“And as our leaders have already recorded many times, the cooperation exceeds the military-political alliances of the Cold War, it is not directed against any third party,” the minister noted.
According to Lavrov, the parties also spent a lot of time discussing “their actions in the international arena”.
The Russian Foreign Minister also said that many cultural events are being held in connection with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and China.
Sergey Lavrov is on a two-day official visit to Beijing from April 8.
