BEIJING, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) — China’s retail book sales in 2023 amounted to 91.2 billion yuan (about $452 billion), according to the annual report on China’s book market, an increase of 4 percent. .72% year-on-year. The short video clip platform is the second largest channel for selling books after e-commerce platforms. As regards window sales, there is still a declining trend.
The report said the Chinese book market saw the publication of 180,000 new book covers in 2023, up 7.3% from 2022, partly due to the publication of many new comic book covers for children and teenagers. Covering topics such as science, psychology, history, life and culture, Liu Shixin has become the best-selling author of 2023.
