Election results are being announced in Pakistan amid complaints and allegations of irregularities. The biggest complaint is about the timing of the result declaration. Meanwhile, the information released so far shows that the three groups are fighting hard.
So far, out of 106 seats, independent candidates supported by Imran Khan have won 47. On the other hand, Pakistan Peoples Party is in the second position with 24 seats. And Nawaz Sharif’s party is in third position with 18 seats.
In such a situation, many people think that no one will get a single majority to form the government in this election. So there are many speculations about the coalition government.
Senior Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Gahar Ali Khan has ruled out forming an alliance with the Pakistan People’s Party or Nawaz’s party.
He said, we have not had any discussion in this regard with the two parties. PTI itself will win 150 seats and will be able to form the government at the centre.
From the morning of Friday (February 9), the Pakistani media began to report that independent candidates of Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were ahead. On the other hand, the most highlighted Nawaz Sharif’s party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is reported to be lagging behind.
Nawaz Sharif lost to Imran Khan-backed independent candidate Shahzada Gastasap by a significant margin in NA-15 Mansehra constituency of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
However, Nawaz Sharif won NA-15 (Lahore 14) seat in Lahore. He got 1 lakh 71 thousand 24 votes in this seat. His nearest rival candidate Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supported Dr. Yasmin Rashid got 1 lakh 15 thousand 43 votes.
