Imran Khan told Avantika the reason for divorce

Entertainment: Mere Brother Ki Dulhan actor Imran Khan recently shared the reason behind his divorce from ex-wife Avantika Malik. The actor was married for eight years before they split. Bollywood actor Imran Khan, who was married to Avantika Malik for eight years, has recently broken his silence on his separation. The Mere Brother Ki Dulhan actor shared that he was dealing with a lot of burdens and was going through internal conflicts. He also said that they were not in a position to make each other happy or strong.

In an interview with India Today, Emraan said, “Without going into that part too much, because I’m hesitant to add too much fuel to the gossip fire, but as I was dealing with all of this burden and all of my internal conflict, I found that my marriage and my relationship was not helping at all. “In an ideal, healthy dynamic between two people, you’re both making each other better, healthier, stronger and supporting each other to be the healthiest, best, strongest versions of yourself. We weren’t in that place,” he said.

Emraan married Avantika Malik in 2011 and are parents to a daughter, Imara. They separated in 2019 due to some unknown reasons. Now, the actor is currently dating actress Lekha Washington and he confirmed the news earlier this year. In an interview with Vogue India, he said, “The speculation that I am romantically linked with Lekha Washington is true. I am divorced and separated since February 2019. Lekha and I came closer during the lockdown, a year and a half after I separated from Avantika and almost a year after she had separated from her partner, not her husband, as has been widely reported.”

He further added, “It is this story of Lekha being a home breaker that makes me angry because it is not only misogynistic but also takes away my agency as a person.” There are rumours that Imran Khan might make a comeback to Bollywood. However, there has been no official announcement yet. He has worked in many films like Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, Delhi Belly, I Hate Luv Storys, Katti Batti, Gori Tere Pyaar Mein, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobaara, Break Ke Baad, Luck, to name a few.
